Abortion fuss

http://nyti.ms/fOuuTu
Not sure of the author or title right now. Trying out a new mobile thing.

Well now to the bloggyness, aren't abortions the most talked about thing now. From birth control to abstinence, pro choice pro life. There are so many sides and angles you can take. I am pro choice and I don't use birth control(my own reasons). And so far no one has gotten on my case about it and I'll be dammed if anyone does. Anyway this articles main focus is that maybe birth control isn't as healthy as we think it is. And it could possibly make you sterile. More later my battery is about to dir

Transgender Confusion

Who Is A Man

Now I want to start off by saying that I have nothing against other lifestyles; Trans, Gay/Les, or Bi. Do whatever floats your boat it doesn't affect me and its not my place to judge. As long as your happy I'm happy, that kind of thing, now as far as I know I don't know any trans people, sure I have a few Gay/Les/Bi friends and I will defend them if someone decides to be an ass, but thats besides the point.

Anyway this article is about El’Jai Devoureau, a transgender man(girl turned boy in case I messed up the technical term) who was fired from her job at The Urban Treatment Associates after only two day. His job was simply to watch men urinate into cups, to make sure they don't swap out others urine,

Last June, Urban Treatment Associates in Camden hired Mr. Devoureau as a part-time urine monitor; his job was to make sure that people recovering from addiction did not substitute someone else’s urine for their own during regular drug testing. On his second day, he said, his boss said she had heard he was transgender.
I feel his boss was in the wrong, though she had basis. El'Jai is legally a man, from his birth certifacate to social security number to his drivers License, he even had the sexual reassignment surgery, though he prefers to keep private things private. So once again he is a man, hasn't thought of himself as a woman since he was five, she had no real reason to fire him, it isn't even obvious that he was born a she.

Since being fired El'Jai has found another job and is happy with the pay, but he needs two jobs to care for his 18 year old son

Modern vs. Classic

Spring Cleaning- Gadgets you should get rid of(or not)
By: Sam Grobart
March 23, 2011

Right off the bat this article reminds me of the newest Best Buy commercial, because being the tech savy, somewhat greedy human beings that most if not all of us are we want the newest things. Anyway this article is not what I thought it would be. To be completely honest I though it was a guide not only of what you should get rid of but what you shouldreplace. Big whoop I geuss, I don't see the point of getting rid of anything, it will eventually come back to popularity, that holds true to clothes I'm sure the same will hold true for technology.

The things you should supposedly get rid of are:
  • Your Desktop Computer
  • Cable TV(maybe)
  • Point and Shoot Camera (which only applies to certain people)
  • Camcorder(same as point and shoot)
  • USB Thumb Drive(totally disagree)
  • Digital Music Player(why? I will never understand why you should get rid of this.)
    • The reasoning is that you can use your smart phone for the same use. However in my experience smart phones are not as sturdy as I-pod( case and point my ipod touch vs. my dads smart phone. He's had to replace it twice. I still have the same ipod not matter how many times I dropped it)
  • GPS
So if you crace popularity go ahead and through all those things away. I guess. Like I said I don't see the point of getting rid of anything. It will be retro and popular soon enough.

Other things on the list. The things you should keep are:
  • High speed internet
  • Cable Tv(again a maybe)
  • Alarm Clock(at least based onthe glitch the I-phone has with daylight saving time)
  • Books(very shocking)
    • Like I said very shocking with all the e books and other technological things out now. But hey books will always be popular with me.

The Start Of It All

James Patterson Inc.

So Jame Patterson, whats to like about him? Whats not to like about him? Personally I like him, he isn't my favorite auther, per se, but he is inthe top twenty. Not that youmay care but its twenty for a reason, I read so many books that I forget names. Any who back to James Patterson. This nine page article is all about him, how he got started, what issues he had to face, his family, how much money he has made and is making and of course why he does it. Well if that isn't a stupid question I don't know what is. People do what they do for three basic reasons most times; Money, for the love of it, or because they're forced. In his case its the money and ofr the love of it. He wants  to be well known, but of course he has to provide for his wife and son. Between me and you I feel as if he's pretty well known but not in the way he wants to be. But then again what famous purpose is well known the way they want to be?

That is neither here or there, personally I like James Patterson for his books about Michael Bennett (Step on a Crack, Worst Case, Run for Your Life and most recently Tick Tock ) all co written by Michael Ledwidge. He has literally written hundreds of books varying from suspense, to young adult and even to romance. Much to the dismay of his publisher, at least in the begining, and as far as I know and can tell, James Patterson is the most innovative author, from coming up with the idea to have a tv commerical for his books( Along Came a Spider, Step on a Crack, Private, Swimsuit, and Tick Tock, as far as I have seen) to writing multiple books at the same time, constantly keeping his titles at the fronts of bookstores. Then again I'm not very open when it comes to books. I'm totally a 'judge a book by its cover' person, or by ear.

And again I digress, bottom line you should attempt one of James Patterson's novels, I don't care if you hate reading or if you love. He wants to make reading easier for those who viewed reading chore in school. (Page 3 and qouted below)

Patterson quickly turned Alex Cross into a booming franchise, encouraging Little, Brown to unify the series with a single jacket style — shiny, with big type and bold, colorful lettering — and titles drawn from nursery rhymes (“Kiss the Girls,” “Pop Goes the Weasel,” “The Big Bad Wolf”), with their foreboding sense of innocence interrupted. “Jim was sensitive to the fact that books carry a kind of elitist persona, and he wanted his books to be enticing to people who might not have done so well in school and were inclined to look at books as a headache,” Kirshbaum says. “He wanted his jackets to say, ‘Buy me, read me, have fun — this isn’t “Moby Dick.” ’ ”
Well thats all for now, till I find an interesting article.

If Your Life Were a Movie

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/23/magazine/23Videogame-t.html?ref=magazine
Article By: Jonah Weiner
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm not sure if many people ask themselves this anymore, but what do I know? What would youdo if your life were a movie? Or even a video game? Personally my life is hectic enough right now. Brock Enright, owner and creator of Videogames Adventure Services in Brooklyn has made it possible for you to answer this question, if you have a few grand to spare. It can cost anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 all depending on how complex the idea is. Now the scenario doesn't happen in some warehouse or something where your surrounded solely by actors and actresses. It happens on the streets, and there are many people involved. Brock  and a few of his freinds(who of course help/work for him) have quite a few connections, be it with the police, bars, cabbies, etc. Not to mention they have actors/actresses working for them.
Once you start its hard to tell what is 'real' and what is a set up. Is that car/person really following you or is it one of the actor/actresses driving the car. THen again this all depends on what kind of scenario you paid for? did you want something actiony or something to rekindle the spark, nothing sexy, just something to bring you closer to your lover.
Me personally I like my life just as hectic as it is. I'll leave the movies to where they are supposed to be.
Is there such a thing as too much good parenting?
Well is there? I think so, lets start with some observations, today's children are becoming more and more sheltered and relaxed. Failing grades, bad behavior in the worst of cases. The punishment for such, well at the youngest age a timeout and harsh words if the parents is really 'stern'. Parents are becoming too worried about what others think or if their parenting style is politically correct, yes all parents want their child to be the best they can possibly be, but at what cost?
Spanking is bad,yelling at your child forget about it. Punishment is now time outs and loosing privileges for a week if that. Now at the risk of sounding racist, most of these punishments, at least to my observations are given out by Caucasian  parents', I'm not saying that any other race is a better parents, its just a simple observation.
Now according to the article, No More Mrs. Nice Mom, the Chinese are stricter than the Westerns, possibly the worlds strictest and meanest parents. Amy Chau, author of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother,  a parenting-memoir and mother of an uncertain amount of children, once rejected her daughters hand made birthday card and told her,
“I don’t want this,” Chua says, in one particularly memorable moment, when her 4-year-old daughter, Lulu, gives her a birthday card that, the mother judges, couldn’t have taken “more than 20 seconds” to make. “I want a better one — one that you’ve put some thought and effort into. . . . I deserve better than this. So I reject this."
Now ask yourself how many parents that you know, or ask yourself if your a parent could you ever do that to your own child, or if a parent you know would do that.
